Sanya Kantarovsky

Sanya Kantarovsky (b. 1982, Moscow, Russia) lives and works in New York. He received a BFA in Painting from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2004 and an MFA from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 2011. Selected solo exhibitions include Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti, Venice (2026); Michael Werner Gallery, New York (2025); Modern Art, Paris (2024); Nonaka-Hill, Los Angeles (2023); Taka Ishii Gallery, Kyoto (2023); Aspen Art Museum (2022); Modern Art, London (2021); Luhring Augustine, New York (2021, 2019); Kunsthalle Basel (2018); Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin (2017); and Modern Art, London (2016), among others. His work has been included in group exhibitions at Sadie Coles HQ, London (2026); Moderna Museet, Stockholm (2026); Modern Art, Paris (2025); Museum de Fundatie, Zwolle (2022); FLAG Art Foundation, New York (2021); Whitechapel Gallery, London (2020); The Drawing Center, New York (2020); ICA Boston (2018); and The Jewish Museum, New York (2017), among others. Sanya Kantarovsky is represented by Capitain Petzel, Berlin; Modern Art, London and Paris; and Taka Ishii Gallery, Tokyo.
