Rose Salane

Working with text, found objects and informal archives, New York based artist Rose Salane (b. 1992, New York) re-examines monumental historical events through individual accounts. Her practice considers how objects acquire meaning through circulation, ownership, and loss, often bringing together personal artifacts with materials drawn from bureaucratic or institutional archives. Salane received a BFA from Cooper Union in 2014 and an MA in Urban Planning from the Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture at CUNY in 2019. Her work has been exhibited at the Whitney Museum of American Art, the New Museum, and the Walker Art Center, among others.
