Nancy Shaver

Nancy Shaver (b. 1946, Appleton, New York) lives and works in Jefferson, New York. Everyday objects and personal belongings become the starting points for compositions that are playful and intimate. Working across sculpture, assemblage, photography, and drawing, Shaver often brings together textiles, photographs, painted surfaces, and found objects. Her work has been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art, New York; MoMA PS1, New York; the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.; and the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, Ridgefield, among others. She participated in the 57th Venice Biennale in 2017 and received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2010.
