Maureen Gallace (b. 1960, Stamford, Connecticut) lives and works in New York. She received her BFA from the Hartford School of Art in 1981, and her MFA from Rutgers University in 1983. Gallace is known for small-scale paintings of houses, coastlines, and rural landscapes drawn from the New England landscape. Selected solo exhibitions include American Art Catalogues, New York (2025); Maureen Paley, London (2025, 2016); Gladstone Gallery, New York (2024, 2021, 2019); Misako & Rosen, Tokyo (2024); MoMA PS1, New York (2017); La Conservera, Ceutí (2011); the Art Institute of Chicago (2006); Douglas Hyde Gallery, Dublin (2007, 2004); and the Dallas Museum of Art (2003), among others.
Her work has been included in group exhibitions at The Flag Art Foundation, New York (2025); Planthouse, New York (2025); Hirosaki Museum of Contemporary Art, Japan (2025); Milwaukee Art Museum (2023); Lenbachhaus, Munich (2023); The Perimeter, London (2022); Dallas Museum of Art (2020); and the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York (2010), among others. She is represented by Gladstone Gallery, Maureen Paley, and Kerlin Gallery.
