Jonathan Monk (b. 1969, Leicester, UK) lives and works in Berlin. He received a BFA from Leicester Polytechnic in 1988 and an MFA from Glasgow School of Art in 1991. Monk works across sculpture, photography, painting, installation, and artist books. He often reworks existing artworks and ideas from modern and contemporary art. Solo exhibitions include Meyer Riegger, Karlsruhe (2026); Belvedere 21, Vienna (2025); Massimo De Carlo, Paris (2025); Ar/Ge Kunst, Bolzano (2025); Espace Muraille, Geneva (2024); Taro Nasu, Tokyo (2024); Dvir Gallery, Paris (2023); Casey Kaplan, New York (2022); Lisson Gallery, London (2021); KINDL – Centre for Contemporary Art, Berlin (2019); and Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin (2014), among others. His work has been included in group exhibitions at Magasin III, Jaffa (2026); Museo Tamayo, Mexico City (2025); Sprüth Magers, London (2025); Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg (2023); Sammlung Boros, Berlin (2022); and the Whitney Biennial, New York (2006), among others.
